Memories

You're standing at this special place,
where you grew up and found yourself.
The biggest grin is spreading on you face
and you pick up memories from the shelf.

Remember that time when you were young?
When your parents always kissed you good night.
And you used to stick out your tongue
to voice disapproval and put things right.

Those easy times, all filled with laughter
and joy. When you approached each day
in a lighthearted way. And happily ever after
was the only truth on your magical way.

Remember that time you went to the beach.
The sand ran tickling through your toes
and you picked up as many shells you could reach
and promised to follow life wherever it goes.

How every corner held a surprise.
How fascinating the world was you saw.
The adults around you seemed endlessly wise
and friendships existed without any flaw.

Everything was an adventure, a game
full of playful challenges - new and fun.
Two single days were never the same
and it seemed like time would never run.

How excited you got 'bout simple things
and nothing could stop the emotions inside
you. Letting yourself be carried by wings
of your inner angle - shining bright.

You loved with all of your heart.
You laughed with all of your lungs.
You ran with all of your strength.
And sang with all of your power.

This spirited child is still around,
living inside you, waiting to play,
treasuring all the memories you've found,
and loving every single day.
